What to Expect

Thanks for checking us out and taking the time to explore, listen, read and learn!!!

Spring Valley Community Church is a casual contemporary experience where all people from non-believers to the devout will feel comfortable and we hope that you find it a place where you can grown and learn more about our incredible God and his son, Jesus Christ.

What Might You Expect on a Typical Sunday morning?

Great question!  Because we meet at a school, you will have a unique experience.  When you come to SVCC on a Sunday, you can expect to find friendly people who welcome you, a hot cup of coffee waiting in our beverage area located down at the end of the hall, and a church that strives to share the love of Jesus with our community.  You'll also find a welcoming Children's Ministry center, with programming for your kids (ages nursery - 5th grade during the school year & nursery - age 5 during the summer).  Our worship service is casual with contempory music mixed with some revived updated hymns (see the Music & Worship section for more).  After service, there is goodies and beverages out in the main hall with a time for fellowship.

How about stuff for kids?

We have a great safe children's program that is split into 3 groups; Lil Kidz (nursery - 3 yrs), Big Kidz (4 yrs - K), and Extreme Kidz (1st-5th grade).  Each of these groups break off into seperate age appropriate groups and learn wonderful stories from the Bible.  See more on the Children's Ministry page.

What about older kids?

For any child aged Middle School (6th grade) and up, we invite them to experience the worship service with all of the adults.  Our Youth Directors, Jeremy Underwood & Jake McDougall would love to meet them & they have a section they all sit in up in the right hand corner.  Not everyone does, but sometimes it’s nice to sit away from parents.  Make sure you head to the Youth page to find out more.

Can I get involved in serving here?

YES, YES, YES!!!!  Spring Valley wouldn’t be able to do anything if it wasn’t for it’s volunteers!   There are opportunities for EVERYONE!  Check out the Volunteer Opportunies section of the website to learn about a lot that go on every week or contact the office if there is a specific area of interest to you.  Other areas include Small Group leaders and hosts, office help, and worship team!

When do you serve communion and who can take it?

At SVCC, we serve communion once a month (the first Sunday of every month).  We use a process called intinction where we invite the congregation up when you are ready and you tear a piece of bread and dip it in the juice which is served by our current and past elders and pastor.  All those who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior are welcome to partake of communion no matter their age.
